City of Arts and Sciences Foundation Ventilation, Valencia, Spain
The Ciudad de les Arts y las Cièncias is an architectural complex composed of five different structures divided into three thematic areas: art, science, and nature. It is located in Valencia, in the dried river bed of the now diverted Turia river, and covers an area of 350.000 sqm.
The designers, in collaboration with the architectural firm, used Modulo to create the ventilated foundations. The work consisted of the laying of Modulo elements of various heights to build monolithic ventilated foundations under the floor of the building. The structure so obtained allowed the creation of lining for the passage of pipes, eliminating moisture and Radon gas accumulation in the environment.
