DRENING REFLUE
–Faq
Where can DRENING be installed?
Drening can be installed below any surface, from a green area to a heavy traffic zone, as long as it is put in place with the proper statrigraphy.Installation below buildings is not recommended. Why use DRENING if I can discharge the water in the sewer?
The authority of many areas rquires a maximum water capacity that can be inserted in the net but the limits are usually very restrictive. A proper sized drening basin, permits the disposal of water conforming to the regulation, avoiding the net obstruction and preventing possible surface overflows Moreover, pulling back the water into the subsoil, the hydrological balance can be restored contributing to the aquifer’s mantainance.
Do DRENING with different heights exist?
No, because the product was designed to form a proper balance between the depth of the aquifer and the available surface.
Can the elements be put on top of one another, creating a multilayer system?
It is possible to create a double layer system, in order to have a reduced surface obstruction but only under heavy traffic zones. In this installation the upper basin have to be separated from the lower basin by a minimum gravel layer of 20 cm and then it have to be rotated 90°.If the soil doesn’t allow the water to penetrate, may I use the same product?
Drening basin can be installed in areas where the permeability is low. In this case the system have to be oversized depending on the time spent by the water in the basin or it have to be provided with a discharging overfill that empties the water gathered from the sewer and the drains, with a supervised flow. In this last case the basin works as a millwork basin and equally prevents surface floods.
Does the system allow the treatment of gathered rainwater?
The draining basin is a system that permits the dispersion of water but it does not change its qualitative peculiarities. If, however it is combined with a proper water pre-treatment (de-oiler, grit separator…) placed at the top of the system and in the case it recieves run-off water from parking lots and the potential contaminated areas , the result will be a winning solution for a proper flow management , both from a quantity and quality point of view.
Can basin’s supply pipes be inserted in the upper part of the elements?
In the case of particular necessities you can insert the supply pipes in the upper part. However, it’s recommendable the front insertion of the pipes in the proper closing cap
Can the system be inspected in order to verify its integrity?
Drening is inspectionable only if you use inspection pits that are useful to clean the element using a water-jet. The pits have to be placed in the external part of the basin. The inspection can be made with a camera or a with a probe, as in the case of the sewer cleaning.
Can the supply pipes be placed in each line?
This choice is left to the designer. Generally is enough to put them in alternate rows. You should consider that water is provided laterally thanks to the holes placed in the two sides of the chambers.
Does the application of ventilation pipes in the dugouts for wastewater treatment create bad smell?
No it doesn’t for two fundamental reasons. Firstly because the air tends to move from the outside to the inside of the system. This motion is favoured by the heat differences between the two enviroments (usually the internal heat is higher than the external heat). Secondly, the air faclitates the self-purification of wastewater through the microorganism that can be found in it. This process occures even without air but it’s slower and it produces more smelling compounds. Therefore, it’s better to facilitate the immision of air in the system to avoid the diffusion of bad smell.
Does the system last in time?
Yes it does. The element is made of HD PE that is untouchable by chemical agents and microorganisms, so the system integrity is guaranteedDo the elements have to be enveloped in geo-textile?
No they don’t, geo-textile have to be placed above the layer of gravel over the chambers and on the excavation sides to avoid gravel obstruction .
Does the system require frequent maintenance?
No it doesn’t, but it is recommended a periodic cleaning with a water-jet. In this case it would be useful the placement of a pit at the clean system entrance and also the place of a geo-textile or of a fine net structure over the gravel to avoid the moving of the draining material due to the pressure of the water-jet.
Is it possible to cut the final elements of the aisles in the case of space problems?
No it is not possible, because the closing cap could not be attached anymore and its application is necessary for a proper installation. Then, the modularity of the product have to be takent onto consideration because it permits the creation of basin of different sizes and variable shapes depending on the needs.
Is the realization of the system possible if there are sub-services?
It’s recommendable the placement of the draining basin in an area where there aren’t sub-services; In the case of a new urbanization the sub-services should move outside the system. Is it possible the plantation of plants over DRENING?
It’s better to avoid the plantation of trees over the basin. It’s possible the plantation of some low rooted shrubs considering a proper rooting thickness over the system.
