Flood events are increasing in frequency because of the climate crisis, making water products a necessity, especially in urban areas. Aquabox has been on our most wanted list since it was launched in 2020, and remains there thanks to its high capacity, modular design, and easy installation. Below are 3 of our recent Italian projects, each utilizing Aquabox’s different advantages.
Residential building, Trento
Stormwater management is a priority in urban environments – each new building needs to have its own system. Aquabox was used for the building of an infiltration basin at the residential complex in Trento, to store and gradually release the rainwater into the ground, decreasing the risk of sewer congestion and flooding.
Equinix Center, Settimo Milanese
Aquabox’s high capacity and modular design make it easily adjustable to any available space, setting it apart from concrete and gravel options. As such, it was chosen for the shallow excavation depth at the Equinix center – the basin was composed of only 2 Aquabox rows, with a total height of 1.2 m (0.4 + 0.8 m).
Equestrian Center, Punta Ala
Sustainable water use is one of the top priorities in battling the climate crisis. Along with being used for infiltration, Aquabox can also be wrapped in a waterproofing membrane to create a basin for rainwater harvesting and reuse. The Punta Ala Equestrian Center chose to use it for irrigation of the nearby equestrian field.
