Installation
Installation
The knowledge of all aspects conneted with the system is crucial to an effective roof garden build with DRAINROOF:
hydrology, biology, chemistry and physics, concerning the permanent loads and the stress of overload variables.
DRAINROOF is especially designed to respond effectively to these requirements by ensuring: – Storage and drainage capacity; – Ventilation and drainage capacity of vegetation layers; – Microorganisms-resistance.
The installation of DRAINROOF is extremely easy:
The product use adual-action locking system between the elements, which are joined thanks
to the overlap between the lateral flap of one element and the complementary void of the other.
The locking system allows a safe and stable installation of DRAINROOF even on sloping or curved surfaces.
Building an EXTENSIVE roof garden
- Installation of an anti-root sheat;
- For extra protection of the waterproofing it is recommended to use a geotextile (TNT) of 130g/m2;
- Installation of DRAINROOF, made of microorganisms-resistant, regenerated plastics (PP), which act both as water-storage and -drainage layer;
- Filling of DRAINROOF with high water-retaining pumice or volcanic lapilli (grain-size 8-12 mm), aproximately 2 cm over the top;
- Installation of a filtering- and separator-sheet of geotextile TNT, weight 130 g/m2, to prevent the filler material and the vegetation soil from intermingling;
- Vegetation soil substrate of 8 to 20 cm thickness.
